MTB Section

These are social mountain bike rides within the club, open to all members and are run in a very similar fashion to the club social series.

Section Captain: Stuart Hall

Rides are organised quite ad-hoc and advertised on this site. Our routes have included local rides around Harewood and Skipton, as well as further afield at the Gisburn Forest trail centre. For the regular rides, we’ll aim to cover 15-30 miles, which will vary depending on the particular route in question. We’re currently alternating the rides between Saturday and Sunday so that as many people as possible get a chance to come along with us, so don’t worry if you can’t make the next ride – there will be another one up soon!

For equipment, we ask that people turn up with a half decent, well maintained mountain bike and appropriate clothing for the conditions, especially in the winter. You’ll also need enough kit to be self-sufficient on the trails (e.g. spare inner tube, pump and multi-tool). I would recommend that bikes have front-suspension at a minimum for the majority of trails that we ride, but feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.
