The last lap of the main Triangle course for the season saw 15 riders out, despite blustery conditions.
Keeping up his track of posting impressive times, Sam Ward was again fastest in 26:23. Fastest OCC woman was Helen Goldthorpe in 32:34.
Biggest improvement, and maximum points in the handicap competition went to former Triangle organiser Sheldon Howcroft.
After 13 rounds, it's still tight at the top, with only 6 points separating the top three. With only a few rounds left, overall victory is likely to be contested between Sam, Jon Hobbs and John Raftery.
Performance of the night must go to guest rider and pro triathlete Lucy Byram, who with a time of 27:49 broke the women's record for the course. It's the third time this season it's been broken, with former OCC rider Robyn Clay first beating her own record to post the first sub 30 min lap (29:10). This was followed by Ruth Astle dropping it to 28:29 as part of the club 25. It's great to see such a hotly contested competition for the record. Well done to all.
Next week is the Hilly Champs, starting at Farnley. To be eligible to contest it, you'll need to inform series organiser before next Wednesday, and the easiest way is to click 'join ride' on the even calendar on the website. As ever, if anyone can help marshal it will be much appreciated (using this link indicate availability)
