The annual Otley CC 2-Stage Hill Climb took place on a chilly but sunny day over on the courses of Guisecliff and Norwood Edge.
In the men’s event, the morning’s stage started with Kieran Wynne-Cattanach setting a strong mark, breaking Dan Evans 2016 course record with a time of 3:08 and taking a 7s lead over Andrew Feather. Feather managed to pull it back over the longer stage 2 and finished with an overall time 2s faster than Wynne-Cattanach. Local rider Andy Cunningham finished third, 20s back
The women’s event saw Olivia French finishing stage 1 32s ahead of Emily Middlebrooke. French built on this lead to take the win after both stages. Middlebrooke finished 2nd and Sophie Yarwood 3rd.
In the category competitions, fastest veterans were David Chell and Sophie Yarwood, fastest juniors Louis Herring and Emily Middlebrooke, and her younger brother Daniel Middlebrooke fastest youth.
