Otley Cycle Club Race Team – WE WANT YOU
Otley Cycle Club has a membership of over 300 and a proud history of supporting riders reach their potential. In recent years OCC has been the best performing cycle club in Yorkshire (excluding Race Teams).
Our Race Team (affectionately known as the Blue Train) is inclusive. We support young riders, aged 12 – 22, who train hard and commit to a schedule of races over the year. Many riders move up through club coaching and rider development. Increasingly OCC is being recognised as a cycle club with a structure to support young cyclists to fulfil their potential. New riders are very welcome.
For the current year Otley Cycle Club Race Team has secured significant financial support thanks to the commitment of multiple sponsors (from a variety of commercial sectors) and we are particularly interested in riders who wish to race at a national level.
Otley Cycle Club has 16 riders for the 2024 season and is able to support:
· U14 Boys
· U14 Girls
· U16 Girls
· U16 Boys
· Junior (16 – 17) Women’s team
· Junior (16 – 17) Men’s team
· U23 (18 – 22) Race team (Men and Women)
Each team has a parent team manager, all riders are encouraged to use social media to report on their racing and to promote sponsors.
Rider support for coaching, race team kit, ride entry fees and expenses
Riders at different ages are supported with some or all of the following:
• Skinsuits/Race Kit
• Discounts on additional kit
• Event entries
• Travel/accommodation costs
• One to One Coaching (Juniors and U23 only)
• Weekly, Tuesday evening Brownlee track training sessions (map)
• Special Discounts at Chevin Cycles
• The opportunity for Bike Purchase from Chevin Cycles at advantageous prices (discuss your requirements with Chevin Cycles in store)
