The Triangle season continued, with once again riders taking to the 10mile V212 course out by Walshford. A cooler evening saw fewer numbers attracted to race, and slightly slower but still rather impressive times posted. Seven took to the start, all of them OCC members.
Sam Ward posted the evening’s fastest time, a 21:19. Whilst nobody went quicker than last week, Martin Pollard came closest, only 2s slower than his previous best, and so took maximum points in the handicap competition.
Next week sees the return to the triangular course that gives the event its name, starting in Arthington with the first rider at 7:30, It would be good to get some more riders, including first timers, taking part in the event. It’s a very accessible introduction to racing, and hopefully quite a social gathering. Please ask if you have any questions about taking part. Details are here.
We could also do with some more marshals to help the event go ahead. From next week we will need three volunteers per week. All it requires is monitoring a roundabout or junction, and checking no incidents occur with riders. It typically will take around an hour on a Thursday evening, and is very much appreciated by the club. Once again, if you have any questions please get in touch. Available marshaling slots are listed here.
