We are very pleased to tell you that we have confirmed the final arrangements for the Ride Out Lunch next Sunday 12th December at the Askwith Arms. We have paid the pub and the Social Series rides from the Buttercross are preparing to head out on Sunday in the direction of Askwith
As you are aware, the situation regarding COVID and COVID safety precautions is changing all the time but we have decided to progress with our arrangements by taking some extra, important, precautions.
The pub will provide extra spacing between the dining tables and for social distancing reasons, we reduced the number of places available to 40 (down from 80 on the previous occasion). Drinks should be taken while seated at tables and that there will be no standing at the bar.
In the interests of public health, attendees might like to take a lateral flow test on that Sunday morning. I am sure your fellow members would appreciate you taking this extra step. However, we can’t insist that attendees provide proof of negativity. The Askwith Arms appreciates COVID concerns and will provide hand sanitising gel and will make sure there is adequate ventilation. Further, the Askwith Arms will request that all attendees wear face masks while walking around ‘common areas’ and while using the toilet facilities.
We hope you find these measures reassuring. Despite the ongoing COVID situation, we are looking forward to the occasion and that we hope you remain enthusiastic. We are raring to go and are decorating our bikes to add glamour to this festive occasion.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the lunch.
