The second championship event of the club TT season saw a strong field of 17 club riders and one guest take on a warm calm evening for a tough 22km and 450m (14mile, 1470 ft) route around Leathley, Beckwithshaw and Norwood.
Continuing with his strong performances for the season, Sam Ward recorded an impressive time of 35:39 to take the men’s trophy. Helen Goldthorpe put out a 35s course PB to take the women’s trophy in 43:16.
Second overall, and fastest on handicap was Jonathan Allen, with a scaled time of 40:06, just pipping his brother by 14s, to take the Hilly TT handicap competition.
Neither of the top two in the handicap competition so far this season attracted points, but small gains were made for the final podium place, with 4 points separating 3rd to 5th.
Thank you all to the marshals, volunteers and riders.
Next Thursday sees the next round of the championship, with the 10mile event over at Walshford/Rabbit Hill. Get in touch with Liam Mealey (email@example.com) if you wish to enter.
