Our mountain goat ride started in Grassington and climbed over Halton Gill to Settle, after a cheeky quick coffee stop we tackled the BIG climb of the day, Albert Hill. The reward was the amazing views from the top, the speedy descent and the warm welcome at Airton café.
After much grazing, the group headed up to Malham Cove and then the final climb to Arncliffe and back to Grassington.
47 miles in glorious surroundings, with good company and at an easy social pace, with plenty of time to admire the views before riding on to the next hill. Thanks, Andy, for creating the route and hosting the ride. Thanks, Ray Gay for the fantastic photos which help share the beauty of those climbs and hope they tempt others to give it a go.
The next rides are on Wednesday (a 15-mile hilly circuit from Guiseley around Baildon Moor) and on Saturday Dave will be tackling 3 local hills: Braythorne, Norwood and Langbar…
