A select few riders turned out on a grey but mild evening to a truncated (9 mile) Triangle. Ten riders took to the course from Huby to Dunkeswick, lured by the appeal of possibly the flattest of all of the courses after last week’s Hilly.
Guest (and second claim Otley) rider, Matt Asquith posted a 20:01 for the fastest time of the night, with Jonathan Hobbs 41s behind at 20:42 for the fastest OCC rider. This gave Jonathan the maximum points in the handicap competition.
After 4 events, Chris Stokes, who took 7 points last night, looks to be running away with it, with an 11 point lead over second placed Tony Wild. Will this lead continue to grow, or is it too early in the season to say!
Next week will be on the same course, and on the 29th June we have the 25mile Championship out at Walshford, for which pre-entry (by emailing or otherwise messaging Liam Mealey) will be required if you wish to be elligble for the competition.
We are also still looking for marshals from next week and for the rest of the season. The events cannot run with volunteers, so it is very much appreciated. See this link for spaces in need of filling.
