Club Runs / Events Suspended

Given the developing situation regarding Coronavirus and what we should/shouldn’t be doing, we are mindful that we are a large club, we have many members who fall into vulnerable categories, and we should be visibly following the recommendations given by Government and medical experts.

We’ve consulted with a number people involved in running our biggest club runs and have made a call that with immediate effect all official Club rides are postponed indefinitely. This decision will be revisited as and when advice changes.
The guidance is now to ride solo or with people who live in the same household. Please help to keep everyone safe by following this. To ignore this is only going to prolong our ordeal as a society and will almost certainly lead to a total ban on recreational cycling (as in France, Spain & Italy).
If you still go cycling, please plan a route that does not require a stop and doesn’t push your limits as a rider. The last thing the NHS needs is to deal with is an avoidable emergency.

Following further advice from British Cycling, we have also cancelled all April Events, this includes:

Reliability Ride Sun 5th April
Road Race Sat 11th April
Time Trial Sat 25th April

The Triangle will be affected and Junior coaching is cancelled for this year.

We trust that you will support this difficult decision made by the Club which we have no doubt is the right one, and we wish you all strength and good health through the uncertain times ahead.
