Social Series Netherby anti-clockwise option therefore going up Kearby Cliff. 8 eager cyclists set off. The sun was shining and felt warm however if you got amongst the trees or the shades there was a definite drop in temperature first thing. We meandered our way along to Poole, Castley and Weeton. Then onto Netherby and Kearby and tackled the Cliff prior to stopping at The Stables. The view from the top of Kearby Cliff is worth the climb. Headed down through Kirkby Overblow and then a sense of Deja Vu taking the Netherby Road again to head towards The Stables for a bite to eat and a drink. Finally returning to Otley along the same roads we had gone out. Lovely ride and once again as always great company. Thanks to all who came out.
The social series strenuous ride today was indeed a bit of a hill-fest. A tour of Nidderdale taking in Norwood Edge, Hartwith Bank and Greenhow. But we were distracted from the pain in our legs by the beauty of the scenery and Kathryn’s *glorious* pink snakeskin tights.
After a brief, futile attempt to hang on the back the GBR team as they climbed Greenhow (chatting as we blew out of our backsides behind them), we rested up in the sun with a magnificent view from Toft Barn cafe, barely a breath of wind, and chickens fighting for our scraps.
It was too nice to rush today, so we got back to the Fleece a bit later than normal, and sat in the sun again. All in all it was very good for the soul! Cheers to Julia for leading.
