As well as our own local Triangle Time Trial Series, members can also take part in the inter-club corsaRosa League, held near Ilkley on alternate Sundays, the first being held Sunday 13th May, and contested by 10 local clubs.
Both series are ideal for those new to time trials (TTs) who want to give it a try and also for those who want to race but whose commitments mean it’s difficult for them to devote the time to riding open events held further afield.
The series is organised by albaRosa Cycling Club although the other 9 clubs taking part are expected to help out too, particularly with marshaling. The other club’s are Otley CC, Ilkley CC, Yorkshire RC, East Bradford CC, Queensbury Queens of the Mountains, Leeds Bradford Tri Club, Valley Striders CC, Airedale Olympic and Bronte Wheelers CC.
To enter the events you will need to register via the corsaRosa Facebook page.
The corsaRosa events are all 10 mile TTs and use two local courses. Courses are given a designation by Cycling Time Trials (CTT), the governing body for TTs in the UK, split by regions. The Yorkshire region courses all start with a V, the two corsaRosa ones being the V810 and the V818.
The V810 starts in Addingham and finishes on the Addingham bypass, going via Bolton Bridge and Skibeden Traffic Island on the A59, then onto the A65 towards Ilkley.
The V818 starts and finishes near to Ben Rhydding Sports Club, following the A65 via the Burley bypass, turning back at the roundabout where the A65 meets the A6038/Bradford Road, with the Burley bypass covered several times to take the distance up to 10 miles.
