To Hull and back on the V718

Well, not all the way there but when racing on the ultra-fast A63 based course V718 course in the East Riding of Yorkshire , where several competition and age records were set in 2016, it wouldn’t take riders too long.

And it certainly didn’t take our two representatives Claire Jessop and Liz Hills too long to cover the 10 miles of the course when riding the City RC (Hull) Open 10 on Good Friday 14th April.

Claire reports that as the women were off later in the day this year the traffic had started to build up a bit, with the weather and the forecast wind not making things too bad once out on the course.

Liz has started her season well and achieved a PB of 25.49. Claire did 24.01, which she was quite happy with, faster by two minutes from the same time last year.

Tbe women’s event was won by Victoria Smith of AeroCoach in 21:37. Team Bottrill’s George Fox won the men’s event in a time of 18:12.
