Ride report, February 14, Bs to Skipton

IMG_1874 IMG_1878 IMG_1881 IMG_1880 Towards Embsay Bean Loved That's Bradley doneA perfect dectet headed off under blue skies on the familiar back roads to Bolton Abbey, turning west up the farm and cattle grid road to Embsay (a steam train was spotted) and dropping down to Skipton for marvellous food and coffee at Bean Loved, a new venue for many.  The return was slightly more eventful, with the ride leader distinguishing herself at the foot of Bradley hill by dropping her bike to the floor, no injuries or other casualties. We avoided even more hills by routing home through Steeton and Bingley, shedding riders anxious to catch the rugby.  At Saltaire, a hardy quintet opted for the 19% joys of Old Hollin Hill (we saw awful storm damage at Esholt) and by the time we reached the Fleece we were down to three.  Around 44 miles, about 13mph, and lots of up, at least 2,700 feet. Thanks Andy, Andrew, Alan, Ali, Ken, Mark, Nicole, Nigel, Steve for great company and support on my debut. Vanessa Bridge
