Road racers still scoring late season points

There’s still opportunities to score points even though it’s getting near to the end of the road season and our riders continue to toy them up, the CDPP Crit Series Extra events held near Nelson on the Steven Burke circuit bringing plenty of opportunities.

At #4 on Thursday 24th August Dexter Leeming-Sykes scored 2 points for 2nd place in the U14 Boyd event and Robbie Pollard, riding the 2/3/4 event, scored 1 point for 9th.

The following Thursday at #5 Otley riders scored a total of 19 points. Highest scorer was Jack Coates with 10 points for 1st in the U14 Boys with Dexter Leeming-Sykes finishing 4th for 6 points. Lucy Ellmore finished 2nd in the U16 Girls race taking 2 points. James Coates rode the 2/3/4 event and scored 1 point for 10th place. Morgan Leeming-Sykes finished 2nd in the U12 Girls and Matthew Ellmore 5th in the U12 Boys.

Thursday 7th September at #6 double figure points were again amassed. Tom Cullen was highest points scorer with 5 for 5th place in the 2/3/4 event. In the U14 Boys Jack Coates and Dexter Leeming-Sykes were 1st and 2nd respectively scoring 3 and 2 points. In the U12 Girls 4th place went to Morgan Leeming-Sykes.

Jack Coates is still currently National Number One in the British Cycling Male Youth Category B rankings with 367 points. Dexter Leeming-Sykes on 149 points and George Radcliffe on 116 are 13th and 24th respectively in the same category.

Eleanor Hunt is our highest placed girl at 36th in the British Cycling Female Youth Category B rankings with 46 points. Megan Cullen is 57th on 27 points in the Female Youth Category A rankings.
