Two days later on Saturday 3 June, Otley riders ventured north to Middlesbrough Sport Village.
James Veitch rode the U16 event. Here’s James’ account of his ride.
‘Took my first win and third podium of the season at Prissick on Saturday the 3rd. After staying in the group for the first few laps to gauge the strength of the other riders I put in a attack to test the other riders. I opened up a gap with one other rider and decided to just keep the pace up and see what happened. I then rode the other rider off my wheel and built up a gap of around 20 seconds over the main group which I then maintained for 3/4 of the race which eventually grew as attacks behind broke up the chase. It was my first race back for a while due to GCSE’s and was great to get a good result’.
James took 10 points for his win.

At the same meeting, Jack, George and Dexter renewed their rivalry, finishing 1-2-3 again in that order to take 3, 2 and 1 points.
