Laying down the power at Ferrybridge

While Philip Graves of NOPINZ powered to another victory, winning the Ravensthorpe CC 10 on the V910 course near Ferrybridge on Saturday 8th of April in a course record time of 19:59, 1.29 faster than his nearest rival, our own riders, hill-climb aficionado Andrew Bolton and 2016 Triangle Series Points Champion Stephen Broadley, began their 2017 campaign in the same event.

Andrew commented that the course was much tougher than he expected although some consolation was found in the wonderful weather that weekend. Early season yet and Andrew is still riding his road bike, with Stephen borrowing son Tom’s TT machine due to a mechanical problem with his.

Separated by just 17 seconds, Andrew recorded 27:32 with Stephen one place behind in 27:49.

Fastest woman was Fiona Sharp (York Cycleworks) with 24:48.

Ravensthorpe CC also promoted a 2-up TTT after the solo event, won by Alastair Wareham and Jon Surtees of SSLL Racing Team in 21:10. Impressive enough but even more so when you consider they had both already ridden the solo event, Alastair Wareham recording 21:33 for 4th place and Jon Surtees 23:00 for 13th. Definitely not unlucky for some!
