Megan Cullen to ride for Yorkshire in Youth Tour of Scotland in April

Otley Cycle Club Junior Race Team member Megan Cullen has been selected to ride for the British Cycling Yorkshire team in the 3-day, 4-stage Scottish Cycling Youth Tour of Scotland 2017 from 8th to 10th April.

The 4 stage event is held on closed roads in and around Perth with regional teams invited from Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland, The Isle of Man, Ireland and a European team.  Teams will be based at Strathallan Independent School at Forgandenny, Perthshire

The stages are:

Saturday 8th April.  Stage 1 Road Race in and around the village of Forteviot in Perthshire

Sunday 9th April Stages 2 & 3 TBC

Monday 10th April.  Stage 4 final race on a 30/40km Kermesse in and around Strathallan School.

Meg has really focused on her training over the last 6 months, sometimes riding over 140 miles in a weekend. To get selected Meg attended training at Richard Dunn cycle circuit every week along with many other 20 hopefuls. Other riders across Yorkshire were selected on previous results. Ava Oxley also selected is a former National Cyclo-cross champion, the remaining two team members being Lucy Naylor and Olivia Ingham.
